POW-MIA Luncheon Information

The POW/MIA issue is one that has affected countless families and individuals throughout our nation’s history. We must remember those who remain missing and the families who continue to wait for their return. It is our duty to recognize their sacrifice and to support them in any way we can. This demographic is sometimes included in other events, but seldom will you see a POW/MIA event that stands on its own. The Purple Heart Foundation of North Carolina is well underway with the planning of a POW/MIA event that will honor these individuals and families. This event is being planned, managed and staffed on a volunteer basis by the Purple Heart Foundation of NC, a 501-C-3, supported by the NC State MOPH Dept and Statewide Chapters of the Military Order of the Purple Heart. Our website provides information on the elegant Purple Heart and Gold Star Family military events we have successfully hosted averaging over 800 Community members for each event and more than 90 Honorees. We are incredibly honored to host the Families.

Our scheduled event will be held on Saturday, September 9th, 2023. September is an important month for POW/MIA families as National POW/MIA Recognition Day takes place on the third Friday in September. This event will be the first of its kind in the State of North Carolina and will include a memorial service to honor our special guests, as well as distinctive recognition for those who remain Missing in Action. A catered lunch is provided to all attending, including veterans and their families. Each POW and MIA family will receive a thoughtful gift as a way to acknowledge their sacrifice and know they are not forgotten.
